WOLKA
• SAMPLE PACKS •
FOR ableton live
What are they?
They are 4 virtual instruments that emulate the Beats, Bass, Keys and Sample models of the famouse line of synthesizers, drum machines and samplers by Korg.
Being sampled straight from the original machines, they achieve the most faithful reproduction possible
The behaviour and sonic character of each knob were carefully replicated by employing Ableton Live's native effects and instrument racks.
This way, they evoke the experience of using the original models by providing equal, if not more control over the filters, envelopes, LFOs, and other parameters.

Wolka Bass
In order to emulate the original model we sampled the full range of its oscillators's two wave shapes (square and saw).
We then stored every possible combination of oscillators quantity and wave shapes into 17 instrument racks for Ableton Live.
Furthermore, we copied the original's filter, glide and modulation effects, which we expanded by providing more LFOs and envelope generators, and a stereo chorus and delay module.
Wolka Keys
The full range of the original's six presets was sampled: Poly, Unison, Octave, Fifth, Unison Ring y Poly Ring.
We then sampled them three more times with the Detune knob engaged, at three different positions, giving you four levels of chorus (none, light, mid, max).
This gives you a total of 18 instrument racks: 6 dry + 12 with chorus (Poly and Poly Ring are not affected by detune in the original).
The sound and behaviour of the original model's 14 knobs was also replicated. We expanded the level of user control with more envelopes, LFOs, and filters for the delay effect.

Wolka Sample
We recorded every sample contained in the original and sorted them by categories into folders, sound banks, and invidual instrument racks.
We also sampled the original model's reverb and replicated the sound of its Analogue Isolator EQ with Ableton Live's own built-in effects.
Just like in the real thing, users can tweak the amp and pitch envelopes, reverse samples, hi-cut filter them, etc., via the macros on each instrument rack.
Advantages of the virtual versions
Recreating them with digital samplers provides the following sound and workflow improvements:
+ Preset storing capabilities
+ More automation possibilities
+ Record longer sequencies.
+ New audio affects.
+ Individual Envelope Generators and LFOs for amp, pitch and filter. (KEYS & BASS)
+ 16 voices on all modes (KEYS)
+ Stereo compatibility
How to install Ableton Packs
Each pack is contained within an .alp file that can be installed using Ableton Live (version 9 o higher).
You simply have to open the file with Ableton Live, or drag and drop it into an open session for it to be copied into your packs library (which can be accessed via the browser on the left hand side.
